Zakhar Prilepin's car was blown up. What is known about the attempt on a known Ukrainophobe

The car of 47-year-old Russian writer and propagandist Zakhar Prilepin (real name Yevgeny ) , who was known for his anti-Ukrainian views, was blown up on the highway in the Nizhny Novgorod region of Russia.

This is reported by Russian state agencies with reference to emergency services.

It is known that the driver of the car died on the spot as a result of the explosion, and Prilepin was injured.

Information appeared in the mass media that he had a serious injury to his legs, but the governor of the region, Hleb Nikitin, claims that Prilyepin is "fine".

According to some reports, the explosive device went off under the bottom of the car, but the circumstances are still being clarified.

It was not officially announced who was behind the attack. At the same time, the Russian government has already blamed Ukraine and the United States with Britain for the incident.

"The fact happened: Washington and the Nazis nurtured another international terrorist group - the Kyiv regime. Bin Laden, IDIH, now Zelenskyi with thugs. The USA and Britain are directly responsible. We pray for Zakhar," wrote Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova.

This is already the third known attempt on Russian propagandists in the last year. In November of last year, a car with Oleksandr Dugin's daughter Daria was blown up, and in April, propagandist Vladlen Tatarsky was blown up in St. Petersburg.

Who is Zakhar Prilepin

Prilepin is a writer and publicist, and one of the most popular in Russia.

He openly supported the annexation of Crimea and the creation of the self-proclaimed "DPR" and "LPR" in Donbas. For some time he was also an adviser to the murdered leader of the "DNR" Oleksandr Zakharchenko.

He admitted that he participated in hostilities and killed Ukrainians "in large numbers."

"Everything we did was just complete arbitrariness. What we created," he said.

Prilepin also stated that Kyiv is a Russian city, and Russia's goal should be to capture all of Ukraine.
